Matthew Reinhart, LPC, has been a therapist at Allies for Health + Wellbeing since 2018. He believes that therapy has benefits for everybody, since all people experience stress and trauma of some kind.
'Having a dedicated space to unpack that with a third party who doesn't have conflict of interest with all the other people in your life is valuable,' he said, noting that there are many connections between a person's mental health and their physical health.
You don't need any special skills or background or do any kind of prep work to receive therapy - you just have to be open to the process. When working with Allies patients and clients Reinhart also can direct people to resources they need, whether at Allies or outside the organization.
Reinhart also delves into a patient’s needs beyond mental health care and links them to the resources available at Allies or elsewhere, such as housing resources, nutrition support or group counseling.
Currently, mental health services are available at Allies for Health + Wellbeing for existing patients and clients, though the organization plans to expand its mental health offerings in the future.
